Circular Story

ST 01 - Lighting fixtures from inox tubes deadstock and blue stone offcuts

The collection, launching in early 2024, showcases a sustainable blend of repurposed blue stone from Carrières de Maffle and unused inox metal tube from New Laser. By transforming waste materials into elegant lighting fixtures, it combines ecological awareness with thoughtful design.

  • We partnered with New Laser SA to source over 1200 meters of surplus inox tubes. Carrières de Maffle, a stone producer since 1886, supplied us with blue stone offcuts—pieces that would have otherwise been turned into gravel. These materials formed the foundation of our project.

  • Our design process is driven by the natural properties of the materials. We let the stone and metal guide us, respecting their inherent qualities. Through a previous project, Gio , we developed a method for working with stone using Mekanika machines, focusing on small, replicable volumes. We chose metal tubes for the lamp structures, keeping the design simple to highlight their natural strength and appearance.

  • With our design in place, we moved to production, where the real magic happened. We carefully balanced the characteristics of stone and metal to create a product that is not only functional but also visually striking. Despite the challenges, like cutting the raw 6m length metal tubes, we maintained our commitment to creating scalable and easy-to-make products.
